Manchester United chief David Gill has hinted there was little chance of keeping an unhappy Carlos Tevez at Old Trafford.

Tevez has made the move to local rivals Manchester City and aimed several verbal barrages at United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"There were clearly issues with Carlos," said Gill. "Whether he couldn't grasp what being a member of a squad was I don't know.
