Man Utd, Chelsea target Kagawa to decide on new Dortmund deal says Zorc

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc suggests that the ball is in Shinji Kagawa's court regarding a new contract.

The Japan ace has been in stellar form for the Bundesliga leaders with nine goals in his last 11 appearances in all competitions and the Germans are keen to secure him to a new deal.

Dortmund have offered Kagawa improved terms on his current deal and have given him two weeks in which to accept before the club may be forced to sell him rather than risk losing him next European summer for nothing with Zorc confirming that there are plenty of clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea, showing interest.

"We will have a decision some time soon," he told Bild. "We would be glad to sign a new contract with him.

"Shinji Kagawa is a key part of our plans. I can confirm the ball is still in play, Shinji just needs to score.

"Of course we are aware he would like to play in England or Spain some day. The question is when he will do so."
