Racing Santander whizkid Sergio Canales is in talks with Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Mirror says United met Canales's father Angel, who is also his agent in Spain at the weekend before Canales senior travelled to London for talks with Chelsea about his son.

Canales is looking for around £50,000-a-week to sign, but that is a reasonable demand for a player who will come cheap and could be a world beater.

Real Madrid want to keep Canales in Spain and have offered £8million in a deal that suits Santander as they would immediately send him back on loan for a year and a half.

However Canales and his father seem more interested in coming to England where he could go straight into a side - even chasing the major honours like United or Chelsea.

The fact that Canales, 19 next month, is interested in the Premier League has also alerted Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa, but they are behind in the chase.
