Santos have put Manchester United and Chelsea on red alert after admitting star Paulo Henrique Ganso could be sold.
Agents in Brazil have confirmed the interest of both United and Chelsea in Ganso this season.
"The player's will is the most important thing," Luis Oliveira told reporters at a news conference on Tuesday. "In case Ganso wants to leave Santos and our interests are preserved, we can negotiate.
"Ganso has a contract until 2015, the deal is signed and we want him to stay until the end of it.
"Since the club are not entitled to any sort of compensation after the end of his contract, we understand that the figure we will receive is the same, whether Santos have 45 per cent or 55 per cent [of his economic rights].""But until today, no offer for him has arrived. I let Andre leave [to Dynamo Kiev] in 2010 and I have let other players leave after that, I do not want to slow down anyone's career.
