Bayer Leverkusen chief Rudi Voller has opened the door for Manchester United and Chelsea to bid for winger Leon Bailey.
The 20-year-old initially struggled when he joined the Bundesliga club from Genk in January last year, but it has been a totally different story this season. In fourteen outings this campaign, Bailey has scored six goals and provided four assists.
His exploits have piqued the interest of United and Chelsea, who have been previously rebuffed by the Leverkusen hierarchy.
Despite their stubbornness, Voller isn't naive enough to think that the coffers of England's biggest clubs won't persuade Leverkusen to sell their prized asset, and he insists Bayern Munich are the only German club able to say no.
"At Bayer, we have had players who have aroused great interest and are on the wish list of other clubs for years," he told Die Welt.
"That's why it does not catch us off guard. It would be bad if it did. We are relaxed. The only club that can say no - and would do so - if a player attracted interest is Bayern Munich.
"We and other clubs have to give in. There are limits you can reach, but that's a theme of our policy, independent of Leon Bailey.
"If there is a need for discussion, we all sit down and decide what is best, while also keeping other alternatives open."
