Manchester United are weighing up a bid for Bari defender Leonardo Bonucci.

The Daily Mail says both Manchester City and the Gunners are preparing bids for the 22-year-old while Sir Alex Ferguson is tracking his progress.

Bonucci made his international debut for Italy last month and has been one of the stand-out performers in Serie A this season.

At 6'3'' Bonucci is seen as an ideal foil to the smaller Arsenal duo of William Gallas and Thomas Vermaelen by Arsene Wenger.
