Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to sell Alan Smith and Gaby Heinze this summer.

The Sun says Ferguson has been told he must sell before he can buy again at Manchester United. So he is looking to ship out forward Smith, with Everton a likely destination.

And Heinze will be another star heading for the exit and a switch to Real Madrid. The pair would generate about £14m for Ferguson to reinvest on players.

The Scot wants a new striker and has told Smith he can go. Mikael Silvestre may also leave with Bordeaux and Lyon interested in the versatile defender.
