Man Utd captain Young: 2 deflected goals...

Manchester United fullback Ashley Young thanked the away fans for their support after defeat at Liverpool.

Speaking after the match, England international Young summed up the mood in the United dressing room after they tasted their first league defeat in their last nine encounters with Liverpool.

"They're fantastic and they have been all season," Young said of the fans when speaking to MUTV. "It's disappointing for them as well as for us. We've got to try and take the positives out of the game and be ready for the next one.

"It's disappointing. I don't think there's a lot more we can say. Obviously, two deflections, but there were times when we'd got back into it at 1-1 where I felt we could have gone on and won the game but it wasn't meant to be.

"Of course it's always disappointing to concede. I think we were containing them. There was a lot of pressure in the second half, which we expected. I didn't think they were going to score and then obviously the two deflected goals — it deflated us and they go on to win the game."
