Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic was delighted with victory over Wigan Athletic in the Community Shield.
Former Everton boss David Moyes has the challenging task of succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson and Vidic welcomed the new boss' first silverware.
"It's a good start, to start with a trophy," Vidic said.
"It's good to feel from the first day how it is to win a trophy with Man United. It's a great feeling.
"I remember the first time I lifted a trophy with Man United. I was really excited.
"We're looking forward to this season. We always want to improve, we always want to win trophies.
"This year people question us even more, because Sir Alex left.
"We know how good he is and how many trophies he won for the club but we want to prove we can win the trophies again.
"Big games are coming and we have to be ready and work hard to achieve what we want to and that's to win more trophies."
