Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney could be out of tonight's squad for the clash at Chelsea.

Sky Sports say he will be forced to sit out the Premier League encounter due to a "muscular injury".

Rooney was not among United's travelling party which set off for London on Saturday afternoon.

And his absence could pave the way for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to figure in Mourinho's first choice selection.

The big Swede was rested for Robin Van Persie's Old Trafford return on Thursday night.
