Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has praised Wayne Rooney for his leadership within the England squad.
The Manchester United captain is by far the most experienced international in Roy Hodgson's squad, with 111 caps to his name, but he makes sure he is as open and approachable with those who are newcomers to the playing group as he is with the seasoned veterans.
Hart highlighted the importance of having youthful exuberance in the England ranks but hailed Rooney for his ability to bridge the gap between the generations.
"It's exciting, fresh, there are a lot of youngsters so they are going to be more comfortable than maybe other teams. There's a good bond right the way through," said Hart.
"I think it's well known that Wayne (Rooney) is our oldest player, 30 years old, and he's such a key part of the squad.
"He's accessible to all the players, right the way through.
"There's definitely a connection, age doesn't really factor into this team. We are one and we're all pushing in the right direction."
