Man Utd captain Neville: Ferdinand willl be great England skipper

Manchester United captain Gary Neville is happy to see teammate Rio Ferdinand named new England skipper.

Neville saw Ferdinand as the natural replacement once Fabio Capello had decided to demote Chelsea defender John Terry, given Rio's years of impressive service at international level.

"It’s a great honour to captain your country," said the United skipper. "Rio’s done very well for England over a long time and he’s vice-captain so he was the natural successor. It’s great for the club to have an England captain."
