Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra feels QPR could still upset Manchester City on Sunday and give them the chance of winning the title at Sunderland.

It looks a forlorn hope and as United face a season without silverware for the first time since 2005, some critics say their dominance is over.

But United left-back Evra said: "I've seen a lot of things in football, so why not another surprise?

"There have been so many twists this season, so that's why I still have hope.

"I still believe we can win this title, but to maintain that hope we have to give ourselves the chance to believe.

"I know that if we don't win the league, then a lot of people will say this is the end of the empire.

"But there's a lot of talent at this club and we've had to deal with a lot through injuries and losing experienced players last summer.

"It's never easy to find a solution immediately, but it's not over yet."
