Manchester Unitd captain Michael Carrick is set for a European road trip to kickoff his coaching plans.
The Daily Star says Carrick retires at the end of the season, when he will join the club's backroom staff.
The former England midfielder is set to go on a fact-finding mission around Europe, with a brief to study different coaching methods.
The 36-year-old is understood to be particularly keen to work on the development of young players and United see him as the perfect role model for that position.
