Manchester United have confirmed that Russian airline Aeroflot has replaced Turkish Airlines as its official carrier, reports www.sportspromedia.com/. It is United's first commercial deal with a Russian company.
It is believed the airline, which is owned by the Russian government, has agreed a five-year deal.
A United statement said Aeroflot will provide 'strategic advice' on club travel. A separate Aeroflot statement added that the airline would provide charter services 'whenever suitable'. It will also add a Manchester United-branded plane to its fleet.
United's statement added that Russia is 'an expanding market it [the club] is keen to explore further and where it has close to 18 million followers'.
