Man Utd boss Van Gaal: The title? I AM capable of miracles!

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal insists he can produce a league title "miracle" this season.

Van Gaal insists he is starting a revolution at United but points out that he has been hampered by so many of the club's players being involved at the World Cup.

The big Dutchman aims for his first Premier League win at Sunderland today, saying: "Would it be a miracle to win the league this season? Yes, I think so.

"But it is possible. So if it's possible it is not a miracle! It is always possible but it shall be very difficult.

"I think it is always the case that you are judged in the second season but I was champion in my first season in Spain with Barcelona and in Germany.

"When I took over the job from Bobby Robson in Barcelona he had won three titles, so selection was stable at the time.

"When I got to Bayern Munich, the selection was not stable, so what we did WAS a miracle.

"Now, at United, the selection is not balanced. There are five No. 9s and six No. 10s and so on and we don't have defenders.

"I think the Glazers understand it will take time, or I would not have accepted this job.

"I have discussed everything - long discussions where I have shown myself as I am always open. I am too open sometimes - but it's like that."
