Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Manchester United will be signing a new striker this summer.
Following the recent departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao, United are currently in the market to sign a new striker which has now been asserted by the manager.
A host of names such as Edinson Cavani, Pedro Rodriguez and Thomas Muller - among others - have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks but it remains to be seen who will be lured to the famous club.
Now van Gaal has gone on to confirm that club executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, is currently in the process to sign a new striker but the Dutchman did not reveal the identity of the target.
Speaking to reporters ahead of United's pre-season clash against the San Jose Earthquakes, van Gaal said: "He's in the process. It's not the striker that the media has written about.
"You have to wait and see. The transfer period is open until August 31. You have to wait."
