Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is happy with Michael Carrick's call to the England squad.
Van Gaal has backed Carrick's recall to the England squad for next week's final Euro 2016 qualifiers.
He said: “I am happy for him. He is fit, he is able to play also for me against Arsenal.
“He's 34 years old. It's logical that he needs more time to recover as a player, but I am very happy for him and I think he's a quality player.
“When Roy Hodgson thinks he needs him, then I am very happy, because he wants to play for the national team.
“I am happy he can do that for the England squad.
“It's always an honour to play for your national team and me, as a former national coach, I am aware of that."
