Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is eyeing AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.
The Daily Star says Van Gaal will continue to monitor the progress of Roma midfield ace Strootman ahead of a potential £30m January swoop.
United scouts travelled to Italy earlier this month to watch the Netherlands international make his eagerly awaited return from a cruciate knee ligament injury sustained in March.
Strootman, who missed the summer's World Cup in Brazil because of the injury, ended his nightmare eight month spell on the sidelines when he replaced Seydou Keita in the 84th minute of Roma's 3-0 win over Torino.
