Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has no regrets selling Danny Welbeck to Arsenal. Van Gaal says that even if he had kept Welbeck he would still not be a regular at United.
"He could have [continued] playing for Manchester United," he said, "but we decided that he could go and he has benefited from it. I think that any player who is playing regularly in a team will always develop. He is now benefiting from playing every week. That was a question mark with Manchester United.
"It's good to see he's doing what I thought he would [at Arsenal]. I cannot judge him so well because I haven't seen him play but now I shall see him I can judge him.
"But I don't think it is so important how I judge him because he is now playing for Arsenal. He's not a Manchester United player anymore so now we have to beat him also. But he's not alone, we have to beat Arsenal."
