Man Utd boss Van Gaal demands millionaire stars begin mixing with fans

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is upset with the entitlement culture of his players.

The People says he believes his players are out of touch with fans and has told them to re-engage with the people who help pay their wages.

United have been able to distance themselves from fans after home games by having security men drive their flash cars right up to the dressing-room door.

But LVG wants to puncture inflated egos by making star names like Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie walk to the car park, allowing fans to ask the stars for their autographs.

A United source said last night: "The manager didn't agree that the players should be so cosseted.

"He was bemused when security men asked for his car keys so they could bring the car right up to the exit door.

"He doesn't want the fans to see him and the players as pampered and aloof so he has changed the system.

"He wanted to walk to his car and sign autographs - and that's what he and the players now do."
