Ander Herrera and Adnan Januzaj are back in training at Manchester United.

The young pair have both resumed training this week - Herrera after injury, Januzaj following an illness - as the Reds prepare for the first fixture of 2015, away to Stoke City on New Year's Day.

"Herrera has trained today for the first time with us and Januzaj has also trained two training sessions with us," said manager Louis van Gaal at his pre-match press conference.

"They don't have match rhythm [yet]. Januzaj was ill and you have to recover from your illness, not from your tiredness. Maybe it's worse to recover from illness."
