Sir Alex Ferguson says he has spoken to former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves since his move to crosstown rivals Manchester City.
The ex-England international joined City as a free agent after his contract at Old Trafford expired and he is desperate to do well according to Fergie after having some injury difficulties in recent years.
"The boy is desperate to get somewhere," he said.
"You train to be a footballer all your life and you want to make sure you have a good career.
"Unfortunately for us, he didn't play enough football. These things can happen."
