Manchester United manager David Moyes wants to keep hold of Wayne Rooney. The Daily Mail says Moyes is ready to tell Rooney he wants him to stay at Old Trafford.
The 50-year-old Scot is due to return from America next week and take up his new role at the Premier League champions and among his first tasks will be to seek an accord with Rooney who has grown unsettled at the club.
Chelsea, Real Madrid, Paris St Germain and Arsenal have all been credited with interest but as yet United have not received any official offers and put out a statement at the end of the season that Rooney was not for sale.
Much will now depend on how Moyes sees the England star fitting into his plans.
