Manchester United boss David Moyes has had a peptalk from Sir Bobby Charlton ahead of tonight's Champions League opener with Bayer Leverkusen.
United legend and director Charlton sought out Moyes to discuss the club's history in Europe.
"It was a really important moment for me when Sir Bobby said he wanted to see me in my office at Manchester United," recalled Moyes. "When he came in, he was just fantastic. I think everybody here is in awe of Bobby Charlton.
"The way he spoke, he is an incredibly humble man. He just explained the history and what it meant to be at Manchester United, explained what a Manchester United manager should be like and then he just talked about football.
"For a man of his age, he obviously has his wits about him. He is very intelligent and knowledgeable about the game. He has moved on with all the modern things that are happening in the game as well.
"I just found his company great. He comes down after every game into the dressing room, sees the players, talks with us for a few moments. It's great."
