Man Utd boss Moyes: Sir Alex knew squad needed rebuilding

Manchester United boss David Moyes says predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson would also be seeking to rebuild the squad this season.

Despite his side's recent turnaround in form, following an inconsistent start to the campaign, Moyes is adamant that he needs to make changes.

"I think if Sir Alex was still here, he would have said there would have needed to be a rebuilding job," he said. "But it's a continual rebuilding job going on here all the time.

"We're always looking to the Academy first and foremost, asking whether we can bring young players through from there. Who are the next ones possibly coming up to the first team?

"After that, we'll go out and look and see if we've not got a position covered, then we'll try to find someone out there better than what we've got or to push what we've got it."

He added: "Everybody is aware that this is a club that continually evolves.

"Think of Sir Alex, the way he had to keep changing teams and building new teams, so I do think in the coming months and years there will be a rebuilding, I've got no doubt about that.

"We'll be looking to do that and we'll aim for that in the future."
