Man Utd boss Moyes ready to approach Chelsea for high-octane De Bruyne

Manchester United boss David Moyes is ready to ask the question of Chelsea about Kevin de Bruyne. Moyes knows Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho will be reluctant to lose the Belgium international to a direct Premier League rival, but won't die wondering and intends to sound out the Portuguese this week for the winger.

Even at £25 million, Moyes feels it is a good price, having gathered detailed reports on De Bruyne while in charge of Everton.

Moyes and United first team coach Jimmy Lumsdem both seriously discussed De Bruyne when the midfielder was breaking through at Genk, but Everton didn't have the pull of Chelsea two years ago when the Belgians chose to cash in.

Chelsea paid £7 million for De Bruyne in January 2012 and while his current valuation of £25 million has been met by scepticism in some quarters, Moyes and his scouting staff acknowledge the winger's development on-loan in Germany with Werder Bremen.

The United manager is a big fan of De Bruyne's high octane style and at 22 feels he would still represent good value for money.

The question is whether the Scot can convince Mourinho to sell.
