Manchester United boss David Moyes remains in the hunt for Everton fullback Leighton Baines.
The Daily Mail says Moyes will look for any signs of Baines struggling to settle again after uncertainty over his future at Everton.
United's need for a left back is likely to be more acute than ever if, as seems likely, Besiktas follow up their interest in Alex Buttner with an acceptable bid before Turkey's transfer window shuts on Friday.
It would leave United short of cover but it is understood they are ready to sell.
