Man Utd boss Moyes made check on Fleetwood pair Hughes, Pond

Two Fleetwood Town players are on Manchester United's radar.

United boss David Moyes took in Fleetwood's League Two clash with Chesterfield yesterday.

The Mail on Sunday says one of Moyes' greatest strengths at Everton was his ability to find a bargain, of course, where quality signings like Phil Jagielka, Tim Howard and Tim Cahill brought particular success.

Rumours he was at Highbury Stadium to run the rule over Town midfielder Jeff Hughes and defender Nathan Pond - who would almost certainly come cheaper than reported transfer target Ander Herrera - remain unconfirmed.
