Man Utd boss Moyes: Giggs best Premier League has seen

Manchester United boss David Moyes rates Ryan Giggs as the Premier League's greatest player ahead of his 40th birthday.

United alone have had superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, David Beckham, Paul Scholes and current heroes Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney since the Premier League started 21 years ago.

But Moyes says of player-coach Giggs: "The Premier League has seen some outstanding players but because of his age and longevity at one club, he stands out as the best.

"This league has been blessed with brilliant players but if there was a poll, I would be surprised if Ryan didn't come out on top.

"He's incredible. If I wasn't working with him and I was told his age, I would say, 'that can't be right'.

"He does terrific things in training - I marvel at him at times and I wonder if he's actually got better with maturity.

"He can play in centre midfield, as a striker and wide - nearly everywhere - and that's because of his intelligence. We do play him sporadically and he understands that.

"Maybe I see him now a little bit more as a player for Europe but that's not necessarily the case.

"But does he look like a 40-year-old when he's playing? Definitely not."
