Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho admits he's unsure of Ander Herrera's injury suffered in their penalty shootout win over Real Madrid in California.

The Spanish midfielder lasted just five minutes in the friendly against Real Madrid – coming off after a heavy tackle from Oscar Rodriguez.

Speaking after the game, a downbeat Mourinho was clearly hoping for good news.

He told MUTV: “I don't know [how bad it is].

“Ander had to come out after 10 minutes.

“It was painful… but sometimes painful does not mean too bad."

Mourinho lost Juan Mata in the last friendly against Real Salt Lake – although the injury is not too bad despite initial concerns.
