Man Utd boss Mourinho spies German star (ahead of Courtois) to replace De Gea

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants an experienced, big name goalkeeper if they're to lose David de Gea at the end of the season.

The United No1 continues to be linked with Real Madrid as new contract talks continue to drag on.

It's emerged over the last week that Real president Florentino Perez has informed De Gea's agent, Jorge Mendes, that he intends to bid for the Spanish keeper - and is prepared to go to €100m to bring him back to Madrid.

Don Balon says Mourinho is well aware of Perez's plans and has contingency plans in place should they lose De Gea.

The United manager wants a readymade, like-for-like replacement for De Gea and has sent out feelers to Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois and Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak.

However, the most realistic option being discussed inside Carrington is Bayern Munich No1 Manuel Neuer.

Neuer, 32, could be open to move away and Mourinho hopes to tempt the German with the prospect of landing the last big payday of his career.
