Man Utd boss Mourinho slams Lovren for Lukaku comments: You don't make sense!

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has criticised Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren for making contradictory statements in regards to an incident with Romelu Lukaku at Anfield last Saturday.

Lovren stated on Monday that he believed Lukaku had deliberately kicked him in the head. The FA didn't agree and cleared the Belgian of any wrongdoing.

The Croatian said: "My honest view was he did it on purpose.

"Even if he didn't do it [on purpose], he would usually apologise, he was nervous during the game, that was also the reason.

"I cannot say I'm disappointed, it is what it is, we need to move on, that's football."

Mourinho was confused with Lovren's statement and decided to hit-back at the 28-year-old.

"There is a big contradiction," said Mourinho ahead of Wednesday's clash against Benfica.

"He said let's move on and forget what happened but then he spends 10 seconds talking about what he thinks what happened and didn't happen.

"For me, the FA committee is there to make decisions so I have no comment."
