Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is counting on Timothy Fosu-Mensah next season.

The Daily Star says he will return to Manchester United next season – not only to act as cover for Antonio Valencia but also to compete for the right-back role.

United have been impressed with the Dutch defender's development while on loan at Crystal Palace.

Fosu-Mensah, 20, featured 12 times for United last season. But he has gained invaluable Premier League experience at the Eagles and played more times than if he had remained at his parent club.
