Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says Wayne Rooney could start the EFL Cup final against Southampton.
A week after leaving the door open for him to leave for China, Mourinho is considering Rooney for a starting spot.
With Henrikh Mkhitaryan out with a hamstring injury, it depends which system the Red Devils boss goes with against Southampton tomorrow.
But the most likely outcome is involvement from the bench for Rooney, who on Thursday decided to stay at Old Trafford.
Mourinho said: “I have to make a decision. If we want to play with a No10, Wayne, it's obviously his position.
“It's where he was playing for us for many matches, so he is an option for me. A final is a special match and he is an option for me."
