Man Utd boss Mourinho raps Southgate for ignoring Butland, Pope

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has had a pop at England coach Gareth Southgate over the treatment of his goalkeepers.

Southgate went with Jordan Pickford for England's World Cup defeat to Belgium yesterday.

Mourinho claimed Stoke City keeper Jack Butland or Burnley's Nick Pope should have been given a game instead of Everton No1 Pickford.

The Portuguese said: "I think also for a second goalkeeper to feel I didn't even play in the third match of the group phase, I'm not playing in the third vs fourth match, when can I play.

"I think it's quite frustrating for a guy like Butland or Pope."
