Man Utd boss Mourinho prepares fans for heavy friendly defeats

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has prepared fans for some heavy preseason defeats.

United kick off against Club America of Mexico in Phoenix today without 12 World Cup stars and Alexis Sanchez who is en route from Manchester after finally obtaining a visa.

"They (Club America) are at the end of their pre-season, San Jose are in the middle of their season, and AC Milan come with all their players because Italy didn't go to the World Cup," said the United manager.

"Then Liverpool, I think everybody is here apart from the English ones - (Jordan) Henderson and (Trent Alexander) Arnold. Maybe not them, but everybody else is.

"With Real Madrid, Spain were knocked out at a very early stage, so everybody is here too. (Gareth) Bale and (Karim) Benzema didn't go to the World Cup, so we are going to face teams with obviously different potential than us. I'm not worried about that - I'm not worried if we lose, even if we lose to some not beautiful numbers."

Mourinho added: "The positive thing is only for the young boys that have a fantastic opportunity to train with us and to train what is to be a Manchester first-team player.

"The chance to know all the details related to the life of a United first-team player and to have the chance to play against fantastic players - Liverpool, Milan, Real Madrid, to know other cultures, to play against MLS teams and Mexican teams."
