Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has spoken out about the significance of youngster Scott McTominay's senior debut for the club which came during their 1-0 Champions League victory over Benfica at the Estadio du Luz in Portugal on Wednesday.
"His first match in the Champions League for Manchester United. It's not just a nice moment for the kid, but for everyone at the club", Mourinho said.
The game was a tough encounter for the Red Devils. They managed to gain the winner in the second half after Marcus Rashford managed to find the make off the net with a free kick following an error from young Benfica shot-stopper Mile Silvar.
The win sees United maintain their 100% win record in Champions League group A. They currently have three points from three games and lead second placed FC Basel by three points.
