Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho sees PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi as an alternative to No1 transfer target Paul Pogba.
The Mirror says Mourinho is desperate to add Juventus star Pogba to his squad, and is willing to pay up to £100million to do so.
But Juventus could hang on to him and United chiefs' contingency plan comes in the form of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Matuidi.
Matuidi is out of contract at the Parc des Princes in two years' time and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 champions in recent days. PSG completed the signing of Grzegorz Krychowiak from Sevilla at the weekend, while Hatem Ben Arfa also moved to the Parisians to intensify competition in a midfield that already includes Marco Verratti, Thiago Motta and Adrien Rabiot.
