Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho insists he's counting on Luke Shaw.

Mourinho has now given Shaw hope that he can still become United's first choice in his position.

The United boss said: “Because of his age, physicality, intensity, aggression and ability going forward, he can be the best.

“But to be the best, you need to work hard and that's what he's trying to do."

Shaw will now hope for more starts in the United side in the remaining two months of the season to try and stake his claim.
