Man Utd boss happy to get game time into Valencia

Sir Alex Ferguson said he was happy to get more minutes in to the legs of versatile Manchester United player Antonio Valencia.

The Ecuadorian is still working his way back to full match fitness following a broken leg suffered last season and the 3-0 Carling Cup win over Aldershot Town last night, in which Valencia scored a cracking 25-yard goal, was another step in the right direction according to Fergie.

"I had a chat with Antonio yesterday," Ferguson revealed to MUTV after the match.

"He, himself, says he needs games. He was a long time out and has been back but probably needs another few games. Tonight was another one."
