Man Utd boss Giggs forced to stall Salford plans

New Manchester United boss Ryan Giggs has had to put on-hold plans for Salford City.

The Sunday Express says for the past few months, Giggs and other members of Manchester United's 'Class of '92' - Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt - have been in advanced negotiations to buy their local club from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One North.

The famous former team-mates, whose rise to stardom began in United's FA Youth Cup-winning side of 1992, are confident of lifting Salford City from the eighth tier of English football to the giddy heights of the Championship within 15 years.
