Man Utd boss Ferguson: We've followed Kagawa since October

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits he was first tipped off about Shinji Kagawa in October.

Fergie, who admits there could be just ONE more signing before the new season starts, has high hopes for his new arrival.

"Our scout in Germany recommended him months ago, at the end of October," he said.

"He had a good season the year before but sometimes when a player goes into a new league the first season is new for him, the second season is a better test.

"He's done very well and we followed him up by scouting him all the time. Once he adapts and knows some of the football phrases that our players use then he'll be used to that and he can start in the first game.

"I've got no problem with that.

"We shouldn't be looking at one player changing the way we play, but he could make a difference.

"He can give us that bit extra in the final third of the field. And if his goalscoring record continues, he could be a very good player for us.

"He'll go on the tour and that gives him an opportunity to get to know the players and acclimatise to the way we are.

"He plays in behind the striker, he's very quick and he's got good vision.

"His goalscoring record over the last two years has been very good from that position."
