Man Utd boss Ferguson: Welbeck getting better all the time

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson had special praise for goal scorers Danny Welbeck and Nani after their FA Cup victory at Derby.

"We applied ourselves very well," Ferguson told MUTV. "The players had a good attitude, they all wanted to play and that made the pace of the game really quick. I was very pleased.

"Nani's goal was marvellous and came at a good time for us, but he's capable of doing that. Danny is a natural finisher and his goals to games ratio is very good. He's only 18 but he's improving all the time."

United's fans were in fine voice in the east midlands and the impact of their support on the team was not lost on Ferguson.

"Our fans were absolutely magnificent," the Reds boss added. "When we are away from home they give us a lift. When we have possession or a shot at goal, they are all up and that helped us today."
