Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says criticism of their form this season is wide of the mark.
Ferguson argues it's only because of United's high standards that pundits have questioned the Premier League leaders.
He said: "You're always going to get that different appraisal of Manchester United than other clubs.
"That's what the expectation is here, and I'm not saying our expectation has lowered in any sense. That analysis is no problem for me and it's good for the players, anyway. It reminds them that sometimes they have to be perfect.
"We've set our own standards. It's good for us to raise the bar and improve one per cent per season and that's exactly what we have to do.
"There's no point in standing still in this game. You don't get anywhere standing still. We've always tried to be better."
