Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has told Carlos Tevez he will decide his Champions League line-up on pure talent.

The Argentine will quit Manchester United after the showdown in Rome with Barcelona on Wednesday - and has admitted that he now fears the axe from Ferguson's team.

But Ferguson said: "The only thing that will shape my team selection is winning the game.

"Nothing else will come into my mind, be it with Carlos Tevez or anyone else.

"My priority is beating Barcelona - and I will be picking the team that I feel has the best chance of doing that."
