Man Utd boss Ferguson: Van Persie could've gone to Man City for bigger money

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has paid tribute to Robin van Persie for not chasing the cash at Manchester City.

After Van Persie's strike in victory over Fulham, Ferguson praised his Holland striker's decision to put ambition before money in signing for United.

"There has been a trend for players to settle for the cash and, as we all know, Manchester City can beat us all for that. It was a refreshing transfer because he probably turned down better offers to pursue a dream."
