Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is delighted with the progress of former Wigan Athletic winger Antonio Valencia this season.
Valencia has only contributed five goals, but the United boss knew he was signing a completely different kind of player to Cristiano Ronaldo, in terms of personality and style, when he paid Wigan £16million for the Ecuador winger in the summer.
Valencia is set to face his former club at Old Trafford and Ferguson said: "The boy has done very well. The good thing about Valencia is that he's as tough as boots, really tough. He can see it out, he's got great stamina and great speed.
"He's a different type of player to Cristiano but we've replaced in that position reasonably well."
