Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says the prices quoted for his striker transfer targets have been "crazy".
Ferguson, with at least some of the £80m from selling Ronaldo at his disposal, did not regard joining the summer spending spree as a priority.
"I think it has been a crazy summer," he said. "If you get the value, OK. But paying £50m for David Villa or £55m for Sergio Aguero does not seem sensible."
