Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has paid tribute to Denmark's new Player of the Year, Nicklas Bendtner.

Ferguson attended this week's Danish football awards night in Copenhagen.

Sir Alex saluted Arsenal striker Bendtner, who won Denmark's Player of the Year and Goal of the Year awards.

Ferguson said: "Nicklas Bendtner is part of the Arsenal team and has proven himself at highest level. It's no surprise to me that he runs away with the prize."
